My name is Séverine Watson and I'm a dual French and British national, born and bred in the UK. Daughter of an English father and a French mother, hence my unique name, I have literally bridged the French-British divide my whole life.
I have spent my life dedicated to languages - firstly through my BA at the University of Newcastle studying not one, not two, but three languages (French, Spanish and Japanese). After a few years of in administrative and customer service roles, I decided to go back to my passion and successfully complete an MA in Interpreting and Translation at the University of Bath in 2011.
Nearly ten years on, including two year-long trips to South America and South-East Asia and over seven years' work as an in-house translator in France, I have now settled in the Gers in the south-west of France.
I have translated for some of the biggest names in the aeronautical industry including Airbus Group and Safran Group companies and thanks to that, I have acquired an in-depth understanding of a sector I knew nothing about prior to that moment.
I translate solely into English as it’s the best way of ensuring that the words and expressions I choose faithfully get across the intended meaning and register of the source text.
